Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

This is the privacy notice for jeremybarker.com, the personal site of Jeremy Barker, operated by Jeremy G. Barker LLC, an Ogden, Utah company. This site collects information in three ways: through Google Analytics 4 as visitors browse, through the guest application form on /be-a-guest, and through the Drop List email signup. This page tells you what we collect, why, who we send it to, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.

This page exists because Google Analytics requires it. The Google Analytics Terms of Service require any site running GA4 to post a privacy policy disclosing the use of cookies and analytics data collection, and that obligation applies regardless of company size. This page is also written to give you the same rights a large-company privacy policy would give you, whether or not state law formally requires it of us.

Short version: we collect what you give us on forms plus anonymized analytics as you browse. We do not sell your data. Klaviyo sends the email. Netlify stores the form submissions. Google runs the analytics. Shopify handles shop orders. Email hello@jeremybarker.com to see, correct, or delete anything we have on you.

Who we are

Jeremy G. Barker LLC operates this website. Contact for privacy requests: hello@jeremybarker.com. Postal address (also used as the CAN-SPAM address on our marketing email):

Jeremy G. Barker LLC
1400 W 4400 S, Building 2S
Ogden, UT 84405
United States

Jeremy G. Barker LLC is a separate legal entity from Murphy Door, Inc., Purebrand.io, Murphy Ladder, and the other companies Jeremy Barker owns or operates. Information collected through jeremybarker.com is controlled by Jeremy G. Barker LLC and is not routinely shared with those other entities. If we ever need to share it with one of them for a specific reason, we will ask you first.

What we collect, why, and where it comes from

1. Guest application form (/be-a-guest.html)

If you apply to be a guest on the 90 Proof Wisdom podcast, we ask for the following. Fields marked required are required to submit; the rest are optional and help us route your application.

Purpose: to evaluate whether you are a fit for the show. Applications are read by Brandon Woods within seven business days. Applications that do not fit are declined and the record is retained only as long as our processors (Netlify, Klaviyo) keep it under their own retention rules. If you also check the marketing consent box on that form, your email address goes to our Drop List for follow-up.

2. Drop List email signup

The Drop List collects your email address only. We do not require a name. It is used to send you occasional email from Jeremy about the podcast, the book, new merch, and speaking dates. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and if you do, we honor that within ten business days as CAN-SPAM requires. In practice Klaviyo processes unsubscribes immediately.

3. Google Analytics (as you browse)

Every page on this site loads Google Analytics 4 (GA4 property G-WEDESE48TR) through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-52FDTHLV). GA4 collects, in anonymized form: pages viewed, time on page, referrer, device type, browser, city-level location derived from IP address (Google does not send us the raw IP), and events we have configured such as clicks on press outlet logos. We use this to understand which pages people read and which links they click. We do not use GA4 for advertising retargeting, and we do not link your GA4 activity to your form submissions.

4. Klaviyo onsite tracking

Every page also loads the Klaviyo onsite script (company_id=XfjcK2). If you have previously given us your email through the Drop List or the guest form marketing consent box, Klaviyo can associate your subsequent page views on this site with your email address to personalize the email we send. If you have never given us your email, Klaviyo sees anonymous page views only. You can disable this in your browser by blocking third-party scripts from static.klaviyo.com.

5. Shop orders (Shopify)

If you buy something from /shop, the checkout is handled by Shopify under its own privacy policy. Shopify collects your name, shipping address, billing address, email, phone, and payment details. Jeremy G. Barker LLC sees the order, name, shipping address, and email, but does not see your full payment card number. Shopify processes the payment.

Who we share it with (processors, named)

We use the following third-party services as data processors. Each of them has its own privacy policy, linked below, and each is under contractual or platform obligation to process your data only for the purposes we tell them to.

Cookies

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies (_ga, _ga_WEDESE48TR) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies expire after two years unless you clear them. You can block them by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by using a browser with tracking protection turned on.

Marketing cookies

Klaviyo sets a small number of cookies (__kla_id and similar) that identify a browser to Klaviyo. These are used to tie your on-site behavior to your email profile if we already have your email. Clearing your cookies removes this association. If we do not have your email, these cookies do not identify you personally.

Functional cookies

Netlify may set a small session cookie during form submission to prevent spam. Shopify sets checkout cookies during a shop purchase. These are strictly functional and expire when the session ends.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Regardless of whether a specific state privacy law formally applies to us, we honor the following requests from any visitor:

Send any of the above requests to hello@jeremybarker.com. We will respond within thirty calendar days. There is no charge, and you do not need to give us a reason.

California, Utah, and other state privacy laws

Jeremy G. Barker LLC is a small company based in Ogden, Utah. As of the last-updated date on this page, we do not meet the revenue or consumer-volume thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (Utah Code 13-61) formally binding on us. We do not claim exemption in a legal sense either; the thresholds are what they are and we describe them here so you can check us against them. Regardless of which laws formally apply, we honor the rights listed above for every visitor.

Children

This site and its podcast are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through one of our forms, email hello@jeremybarker.com and we will delete it.

International visitors

This site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US by our processors. By using this site or submitting a form, you consent to that transfer.

Security

Form submissions travel over HTTPS. Klaviyo, Netlify, Shopify, and Google each maintain their own security programs, linked in the processor table above. No system is bulletproof; if we ever become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you by email using the address you gave us.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and update the last-updated date at the top. If the change is significant (a new processor, a new data category), we will also send a plain-text notice to Drop List subscribers.
